Surrounding landscape determines the architecture of the extension.
rb Illustrierte, December 2018.
In the December 2018 issue of rb Illustrierte, we had the pleasure of presenting the project "Der Weg zum Gipfel".
Due to the clients' close relationship with the Stubai Alps, the structure of a mountain landscape was incorporated into the design process, which is reflected in the angular rock structures and the curved valley floors. In the two-dimensional section, a cross-shaped development was created based on a summit cross, which was also adopted in the roof surfaces. This resulted in four edge surfaces for which a contour method was applied across the entire roof surface to determine the slope. The fall direction of the water drainage was then determined and Schifter rafters were inserted at right angles to the contour lines. This created a cut-off optimization and the direction of fall of the partial areas was described naturally by the soffit.
