A detached house with a courtyard character is being built on a plot of land surrounded by a mixed forest of spruce and deciduous trees. There was a desire to preserve as many trees as possible and embed the house in them like a small nest.
There is an outbuilding on the north side of the house, which blends playfully into the slope. Surrounded by earth, parking spaces and storage rooms are created here. The adjoining wing opens up to the south and offers residents a flat garden area that connects to the residential building to the east.
The house is planned as a solid timber construction. The exterior walls are plastered and clad with wooden elements on the weather-protected sections, creating a robust and durable façade that also creates a connection to the surrounding nature.
In terms of sustainability, a bright roof counteracts overheating in summer and a heat pump and photovoltaic system cover the heat and energy supply.
The need for north-east-facing sleeping areas was met by turning the building outwards. This results in bright communal spaces in the south-west of the residential building, which create both horizontal and vertical views to the outside.
When you enter the house, you will find the communal rooms and the cooking and dining area on the first floor. This is connected to the upper floor by a gallery and presents itself with vertical references to the trees thanks to the high air space and the connection to the skylight. Clay plaster on the interior walls ensures a balanced indoor climate.
The parents' sleeping area on the upper floor has its own bathroom and dressing room. The two children's bedrooms are also located on this floor and share the second bathroom. The children's rooms each have a gallery, which offers the future residents space for individual design options.
On the top floor there is a small "children's living room", which is connected to the air space above the cooking and dining area; this creates a connection between the entire interior space.
The terrace on the upper floor is directly connected to the green area on the flat roof of the outbuilding.
This design shows a modern house in sustainable construction that is in harmony with nature; playful and individual with enough space for personal favorite places.
