During the renovation of this house, particular attention was paid to a harmonious interplay between the building and its surroundings. The idea behind the façade design was to soften the traditional style of the stable building through the clever use of materials.
The horizontal structure of the façade creates an exciting interplay of different materials: natural stone walls on the first floor, wood paneling on the upper floor and a half-timbered look on the top floor of the house. The typical local style is broken up by a dwarf house made of black steel with generous glazing, which reflects the idea of using modern materials. As the property is located at an altitude of 1400m on the Arlberg, the owners not only enjoy the all-day incidence of light, but especially the view over the village.
Through the intelligent conversion of the existing structure and additions in timber construction, the sustainability idea of building in existing structures is realized.
