The Gasthaus Romediwirt in Thaur is located at around 800m in a picturesque setting and is just a few meters from the Romedius Church, which is a popular destination for pilgrims and hikers. The castle ruins of the municipality of Thaur are located in the immediate vicinity, making the historical significance of the place palpable. A building was created at this location that consciously blends in with its surroundings. The powerful atmosphere of the place was to be supported and the idyllic location enriched by a cozy inn.
From the outside, the restaurant with its architecture and bright monastery plaster façade blends in with the typical local image. In the immediate vicinity of the Romedius Church, it looks as if the restaurant has always been there.
The Romediwirt has a modern and minimalist design that combines with the characteristics of a classic Widum. Typical of this are the cornice transitions to the canopy and the beveled window reveals. The use of wooden windows and copper underline the traditional architecture of the restaurant.
Inside, the restaurant has a modern industrial style with traditional details, giving it a rustic charm at the same time. And here, too, reference is made to the history of Thaur: The existing castle stones under the bench are a reference to the historical significance of the location.
