In a rural area, surrounded by greenery, the proximity to nature could not be more present. Surrounded by trees, a modern timber building stands here, which blends elegantly into nature with its natural larch wood façade. The desire for plenty of space for community and family life, the connection to nature and sustainability were decisive factors in the planning.
The targeted use of contrasting materials such as wood and concrete has resulted in a functionally minimalist new building with a clean interior design that impresses with its stylish down-to-earth feel.
Generous glass elements let the interior of the modern timber building shine with brightness and allow views from east to west, merging the transitions from inside to outside.
The exposed concrete core forms the heart of the house. This not only acts as a purist style element, but also as a mediator between the rooms. The built-in fireplace, which also provides visual connections within the living spaces, makes efficient use of the natural heat storage capacity of the concrete. Elsewhere, it functions as a staircase and offers integrated spaces for working and relaxing. The modern design is also reflected in the adjoining black steel gallery. This in turn reflects the desire for an open room concept by creating a connection between the ground floor and the top floor.
Seating right next to the windows gives the residents a feeling of the outside inside.
The air heat pump and a photovoltaic system on the roof of the new building ensure autonomy in the supply of electricity and heat and round off the sustainability concept.
